A winter day in Newport, RI

What a great day it was in Newport, RI.  Just because it's winter in New England doesn't mean there isn't anything to do.  Recognize the photo below?  More importantly, the building on the right?  It is the Chinese Tea House featured in the movie "27 Dresses."  Yes, that's right.  Scene's from the movie were actually filmed right here located on the grounds of one of Newport's famed mansions known as the "Marble House."

The Marble House happens to be one of my favorite summer homes located on Bellevue Ave in Newport.  This mansion has much history of it's previous inhabitants.  Perhaps, if you have a love of history and like learning about all of the things that went on in the "Gilded Age," perhaps a day visit to this mansion would be perfect for you.

What a beautiful and enchanting place this is, but don't get your hopes up of taking too many selfies inside this historic mansion.  However, sometimes "special permission" is granted.  ;)  I only hope, that you will have the chance to visit this beautiful place, not only in the summer, but around the Holiday's as well.

As a New England native, I happen to absolutely love Newport, RI and considering this location is not far from my home, you can count on many more visits.

Also, if you love Seafood and Fine Dining, I would highly recommend "The Mooring" Restaurant right on the harbor.

In the photo above, you can see my Mom truly enjoying her time with me at the best table in the house.  The corner table with panoramic views of the ocean and phenomenal sunset.  I only wish I had taken more pictures instead of steadily stuffing my face.
